The Kids MODAPORTUGAL initiative is an international promotional campaign that highlights the dynamism of Portuguese children's fashion brands and their excellence in a competitive global market. Aware of the relevance of this subsector in the Portuguese national fashion industry, this project comes from the Textile Intelligence Center (CENIT), in collaboration with ANIVEC – National Association of Clothing and Clothing Industries.

KIDS MODAPORTUGAL, is represented by a group of eight brands that have embraced the challenge of, together with CENIT, presenting the diversity of the Portuguese national offer, while focusing on the dynamism of an entire sector that includes approximately 60 brands with a strong personality and international recognition.

Under the umbrella of sustainability, these eight brands (Baby Gi, Knot, Laranjinha, Play Up, Pureté, Snug, Wedoble and Wolf&Rita) make visible a movement that cares about the positive impacts that fashion can have on the environment, people and the economy.

‘Together for the future’

‘Together for the future’

'Together for the future' is the motto of the launch of this project with which eight Portuguese brands are committed to a safer and more sustainable future. All communication revolves around sustainability, the future and togetherness. This digital showcase of the project, as well as the video of its campaign, can be seen at www.kidsmodaportugal.pt. The Portuguese textile and fashion sector is experiencing a moment of transformation to which the children's clothing subsector is no stranger. Currently, this industry represents one of the main drivers of development in the country, with the children's subsector being one of the most dynamic, as evidenced by the constant launch of new brands. In fact, the Portuguese fashion sector has led one of the main transformations of the country's industrial and business fabric.

The Portuguese manufacture of children's clothing is around a turnover of 600 million euros

Due to its dynamism and innovative spirit, the children's clothing industry (baby and child) occupies an indisputable space and has a strong export component. In fact, according to CENIT estimates, only 16% of the national production of children's clothing goes to the Portuguese internal trade. Estimates suggest that the corresponding turnover, exclusively to the children's clothing manufacturing subsector, is around 600 million euros, and that it grew by around 6% between 2019 and 2021. - B2B platform with international ambition Convinced that there is strength in unity, these eight brands come together in search of greater recognition. Thus, jointly and under a single seal of Portuguese Production associated with sustainability, the objective of these firms is to advance in their internationalization plan. KIDS MODAPORTUGAL was born with the objective of the B2B growth of these brands, the search for international buyers and distributors and the recognition of Portuguese quality. This initiative is promoted by CENIT - Textile Intelligence Center - in collaboration with ANIVEC - National Association of Clothing and Clothing Industries - and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Portugal 2020 Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Program.
